Saturday 22nd October 10am-1pm - Class 1 -Creating Painterly Figures from Scratch

My “Art Journal Play” classes are all about exploring and playing with art journaling and mixed-media techniques. The goal is to learn techniques, experiment, play, and make finished journal pages. We’ll be working in journals, but the techniques apply to all mixed-media projects (canvases, book-making, etc.).

We’ve been drawing faces with a pencil. What happens when you put the pencil down and draw with a paint brush? You end up with dynamic, expressive portraits and figures. I will show you how to build foundation layers and then add features for interesting imagery. We will paint large scale and small scale to create a whole series of interesting characters. Fun and expressive, you will enjoy pushing yourself to be a better artist.
